Distinction Hotel Rotorua, Rotorua

The hotel has a great location, not far from the city center, making it convenient for exploring. The rooms could have been cleaner and felt a bit old, but they were more spacious than most motels and serviced apartments. The service was excellent, with staff going above and beyond to assist and even offering to fry eggs for the kids. In terms of dining, the availability of Filipino dishes like Pork Adobo and Sinigang was a plus, but overall, the experience was lackluster with limited options. The location's proximity to geothermal attractions and rafting spots was superb, although the continuous heavy traffic noise was a downside through the night.

The hotel had amazing rooms with a view to match, but lacked A/C or effective fan cooling. Perfect stay with 2 kids despite some cleanliness issues like unvacuumed areas and carpet stains. Service was friendly and helpful, with some staff appearing busy. Good location close to town and most amenities, but high price tag. Lovely dining experience with ample options, although some room odor concerns and cold eggs. Overall, a comfortable stay with minor room maintenance issues.

I stayed at this hotel for a family leisure trip over the weekend. While the lack of air conditioning in the rooms meant we had to switch from the 5th floor to the 2nd floor, a good cleaning with Jif could easily take care of most of the stains and marks. The location was superb for accessing all the main geothermal attractions and rafting, but the outdated appearance could use a refresh for a more modern feel.
